
Medical Director / Founder
Dr. Eduarda Krieger, a native of Portugal, is a graduate of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Lisbon. She completed an internship in small animal internal medicine and surgery at School of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Bologna, Italy, a radiology course at Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine and radiology/ultrasonography supervised volunteer training at the Animal Medical Center (1999/2000).
Dr. Krieger founded Community Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and loves the community she and her team serve in the heart of Upper Manhattan.
She lives in the Upper West Side with her two daughters, her dog Frutti and her cat Cátia and is an active supporter and participant of conservation and ecology programs.

Consultant
Dr. Ken Latimer, a native of Richmond, Virginia, graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. After five years in private practice, he returned to academia to complete a residency in clinical pathology and a Ph.D. degree in veterinary pathology. He subsequently was board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. Dr. Latimer served on the faculty of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary medicine for 29 years, worked for Covance Laboratories, Inc. in drug discovery and safety assessment for 8 years, and then started his own consulting practice for private veterinary practitioners and the pharmaceutical industry. He is a Past President of the American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology, editorial board member of several professional journals, and editor of Duncan and Prasse’s Veterinary Laboratory Medicine: Clinical Pathology.

Veterinarian
Dr. Abigail Carr is a New York City native and a graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
After completing veterinary school, she completed additional training and spent two years working as an emergency veterinarian before transitioning into general practice. She especially enjoys caring for senior pets, focusing on improving their comfort and quality of life. She lives in Brooklyn with her family, her dog Petunia, and her cat Evie.

Head Nurse
Jake is a veterinary nurse with over five years of experience in community veterinary medicine. Originally from Brazil, he graduated as a veterinary technician there and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
Passionate about accessible animal care, Jake brings both technical expertise and a warm, compassionate approach to his work.
Outside of the clinic, he enjoys staying active by playing volleyball, going out with friends for dancing and drinks, and unwinding with a good book—especially romance and comedy novels.
